Making a Will can be a daunting procedure, but with us there to help and advise you every step of the way, it need not be.
Step One
A consultant will contact you soon to arrange a convenient time to meet up and discuss your circumstances in more detail.
Step Two
During the course of the meeting, Montpelier’s consultants will take you through every step of the process in detail and explain why a Will, drafted to meet your particular circumstances, is so essential. They will explain all of the necessary legal terms and answer any questions you may have.
Step Three
The consultant will also carefully explain to you what allowances your country of domicile offers you with regards to Inheritance Tax. They will ensure that you have a thorough understanding of what can be done to avoid this tax, making this complex area of financial planning simple.
Step Four
Our legal department will then draft your Will for your approval, which you will receive in 5 to 10 working days time.
Step Five
Check through the draft. If you need to make any changes or wish to include other details, you can do so at this stage, and it won’t cost you anything extra.
Step Six
Once you’re satisfied with your draft Will, we’ll create the original document. We will then arrange for you to sign this document in the presence of two witnesses who must be over 18 and cannot be beneficiaries or married to beneficiaries in your Will. Your will then becomes a legally binding document.
Montpelier understand that expatriates time is at a premium, that is why we aim to ensure that the will writing process is as quick and easy as possible for you, giving you the best advice and the highest standards of service.
